  India votes no against OOXML
Just returned from delhi where I attended the Bureau of Indian Standards meeting on OOXML. Red Hat is a voting member of this committee and I had the privilege to represent the company on this committee. The committee has voted an unanimous "No with comments" on OOXML. I will wait for an official mail from BIS before saying anything more but thought that I should share the good news with my friends in the FOSS and open standards community.

I will wait for a longer post from you, obviously you are over-the-moon with this. Although if you can knock some sense into Narayan Murty it would be awesome. NM should realise that being what he is, speaking sensibly should be one of his intrinsic behavior.

IndLinux.org is the pioneer in the localization of Linux to Indian languages when you see a Hindi user interface on Linux, that's work that we had started. I am interested in using techology as a tool to acclelrate socio-economic growth. That's what got me into localization because I believe that wonderful tools like the computer and the Internet should not just be the preserve of the English speaking elite in India.
